Increasing Coronavirus cases are making the situation worse for students who are going to appear for CA Exams in July 2020. Hence, a PIL has been filed by Advocate Alakh Alok Srivastava in Supreme Court on behalf of “the India Wide Parents Association” seeking to put stay on the Opt-Out Scheme.

Here we have attached the tweet of Advocate Alakh Alok Srivastava which reads:

The tweet is as under:
“On behalf of “India Wide Parents Association”,
today I have filed a Petition in Supreme Court, seeking:
-More Exam Centres
-Stay on “Opt-Out” scheme
-More precautions from Corona
-For 4.67 lakh CA students, who are slated to appear in CA Exams between 29th July to 16th August”

As per the normal routine, The CA Exams were scheduled to happen in May this year, but due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the exams were first postponed to June and later to July.

There are many teachers who are against ICAI exam taking in the upcoming month, but the majority of teachers are in support of exam-taking in July 2020.

Due to the exponential rise in the COVID cases students all over the country were demanding to cancel the exams/postpone them to November. Some students were also of the opinion that exams should be held.

In regard to this ICAI came out with an announcement and gave an option to the students to Opt-Out from July 2020 exams, meaning exams will currently be held as scheduled but those who don’t wish to appear can give their exams in November.
