CMA Foundation Exam Pattern Changes to MCQ Format from June 2013

The CMA Entry level examination, Foundation exam’s Exam pattern is changed from June 2013. The new pattern is MCQ format based which is currently applicable in CA CPT & CS Foundation exam. The more details about New Exam Pattern in CMA Foundation is given below.

CMA Foundation Exam Pattern Changes to MCQ Format from June 2013

CMA Foundation examination from June 2013 will be MCQ based, and more details are given below.

A. Subjects & Time Duration

The entire examination will be conducted in one day only. It will be held in two sessions. 1. Morning Session & 2. Afternoon Session.

In the morning session (10 am to 12 pm), the examination will be held for Paper 1 : Organization & Management Fundamentals & Paper 2  Accounting .

In the afternoon session (1 pm to 3 pm), the  examination will be conducted for Paper 3 (Economics and Business Fundamentals) & Paper 4 (Business Mathematics & Statistics Fundamentals).

There will be a recess of one hour between the two examinations. The actual date of Examination of Foundation June 2013 will be communicated through separate Examination Notification.

B.  Total Marks Bifurcation

Question Paper will be of 100 marks for P-1 (Organization & Management Fundamentals) & P-2 ( Accounting ) i.e. 50 marks for P-1 & 50 marks for P-2. There will be 50 questions of 1 mark each for P-1 & 50 questions of 1 mark each for P-2. Time duration will be 120 minutes for 100 marks.

The same pattern will be followed for P-3 (Economics and Business Fundamentals) & P-4 (Business Mathematics & Statistics Fundamentals).

So, the total exam mark will be 200.

C. All Questions are Compulsory

All questions will be compulsory in the new format of Foundation exam of ICMAI.

D. CMA Foundation Pass Percentage Requirement

To pass the CMA Foundation Exam, the student will have to get 40% marks in each paper and 50% in aggregate of all papers.
